Research shows us that regular practice of mindful awareness (or meditation) creates permanent beneficial changes in the very structure of our brains. But mindful awareness practice may take many other forms than traditional contemplation. In Mindful Pleasure we will combine the benefits of mindful awareness with those of becoming deeply connected to your body. You will be supported in creating and refining an empowering practice that really works for you.
You will be invited to join a series of exercises followed by the opportunity to play, co-create and explore jam-style in a safely held space. During this playful and wholehearted session we will explore alone, in pairs and small groups to connect to our bodies and the senses using consent, intention and awareness as a framework. Many people come across issues of how to balance porn with intimacy; this workshop explores how to use porn as a positive tool to exercise curiosity and explore fantasy in a healthy way, and will present practical ways we can become more mindful and happier consumers of porn. We will begin by breaking down the damaging aspects of modern porn, taking the industry out of the shadows to discuss the habits of miscommunication/disconnection it can be responsible for.
